The issue came to light after many users began reporting that their iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models die out much faster than the what the battery indicator showed at the top right corner of the screen. While many assumed that it was a problem with the battery inside the new iPhones, Apple in its support page now tells us that it is aware of the problem and is investigating the issue.
However, the company has yet to find a permanent solution as it explained, “If you change the time on your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus manually or change time zones when traveling, you might notice that the battery percentage doesn’t update… Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution.”
Apple did provide a temporary fix for the same:
– Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that Set Automatically is turned on.
Still then, it is a bit surprising to learn how the two are connected. Also, Apple suggests that you head a service center if the battery issue is not resolved even after the restart.
